Marie Valerie Bridge, Esztergom
Sometimes, a river can ramify due to the large amount of sediment it carries and continue its journey between the many small islands it has formed. This is called river braiding. We mapped this a phenomenon with our 3D multibeam laser scanner at the Marie Valerie Bridge in Esztergom. The images clearly showed the protection of the piers against washing out, the supporting structure of the old bridge, but we also found a sunken boat.
