Megyeri Bridge
We delivered the upper structure elements of the Megyeri Bridge at the Szentendre Danube branch in six pieces to the construction site. The elements, weighing 450 – 800 tonnes, were floated on transversely inverted 40 m long barges in a 360 m long towing formation. The largest bridge element was 120 m long and we needed a power of 5000 HP for the transportation. Exceptionally, we were allowed to use the so-called valley branch on the Buda side of Margaret Island upstream on the Danube for the transport, so that it was easier to navigate at the Margaret Bridge with the huge formation.
