Robinson Bridge, Budapest

Prior to the construction of the pedestrian bridge of the National Athletics Stadium, we carried out a riverbed survey on the affected section of the Ráckeve (Soroksár) Danube. The mapping of the bed conditions was of critical importance, as for the lifting we had to sail in with the Adam Clark floating crane to the Csepel Island Peak, where small reefs can always be expected. The survey revealed that dredging work would be needed to bring the Clark in so that it would not run aground. The survey results helped us to plan the exact set-up and to better define the size and limits of the manoeuvring area.
