Sewer System Introduction in the Industrial Park in Iváncsa – Challenges and Successful Implementation
Our company participated in a special and highly complex project in Iváncsa, where the task was to introduce treated wastewater into the Industrial Park’s sewer system. For HSP, the work was not only a technical challenge but also required us to face the flooding challenges of the Danube once again, which we had to contend with during planned, precise underwater operations. During the project, we installed a 470-meter-long, 400 mm diameter PE pipe into the Adonyi-Duna oxbow, which we towed 3 km upstream against the current. The operation took place in multiple phases: underwater drilling, several drill bit exchanges, and the precise work of the diving team ultimately allowed us to achieve the desired 600 mm pipe hole in three stages.
The work was supported by various specialized equipment: the Botond and Anna boats, the Soil-Mec pontoon system, motorboats, barges, dredgers, and excavators all worked together to ensure the successful implementation of the project. Continuous monitoring of weather and water levels was critically important during the days spent in Iváncsa, but the smooth execution was never jeopardized.
To successfully complete the project, we had only three days after the pipe pull to carry out the diving work and the stone protection. Despite the tight schedule and constant water level changes, we managed to complete the task with the highest level of expertise, on time, and with maximum Class I quality.
