Transit of Self-Elevating Barges to Belgrade
In preparation for the floating operations related to the demolition of the Old Sava Bridge in Belgrade, the required marine units were transported along the Danube in July 2025.
Our push boat Zsombor delivered two 52-metre self-elevating barges from Mohács to the Serbian capital, where preparations for the arch span floating operation were already underway.
Throughout the voyage, particular attention was given to prevailing water levels, current conditions, the convoy’s draft, as well as the manoeuvring limitations imposed by river bends and hydraulic structures. The transit was carried out in a controlled and scheduled manner along the entire route, with navigational safety as the primary consideration.
The convoy arrived in Belgrade on 16 July 2025. Following customs clearance and the completion of all regulatory procedures, the barges were immediately deployed to execute the floating operation of the Old Sava Bridge arch span.
